2.1 System Requirements (Hardware)
Server
The CidaCit runs on Windows 2000, XP, and 2003 operating systems. However, when configuring a client/server environment, it is recommended that a Windows 2000 Server or 2003 Server be used on the server machine. The .NET 2.0 Framework is required on the Client Machine which can be found on all Windows environments.
CidaCit server runs as a service.
DB Server, Database independence
CidaCit can connect to a Choice of MYSQL, SQL, DB2 Server, We recommend a MYSQL Server if cost is a factor.
Both the CidaCit Server and DB Server can be running on a single server computer. It can be deployed on different computers when there are thousands of clients working.
Client
The Client will work on Windows XP, Vista and Table OS, The client is extremely customizable, including branching dictionary, forms, and customizable report engine, workflow Engine and Rules Engine.
Client Deployment is very easily achieved over a Web Server for access over a wide area network, typically for access for clients working from home / other business locations.
Server’s hardware requirements are dependant on a number of factors. Some of these include the number of concurrent client users in the environment, the number of calls made to the server the nature of the calls made by the software.
Tablets
A patient facing solution can be less expensive than hardwired PCs and more secure
Mobility – Information at your fingertips at all times
Handwriting Recognition – hunt and peck typists rejoice! It actually works!
Stand Alone Environment (Server / Client)
For stand-alone systems (single user environment where the client and server components run on a single physical machine), the minimum hardware recommendations are:
• 500 MHz CPU
• 512 MB RAM
• 1 GB HD
For multi-user environments of up to 500 concurrent users (client-machines), the minimum hardware
Recommendations are:
• 1+ GHz CPU
• 1 GB RAM
• 1 GB HD
For multi-user environments of up to 2500 concurrent users (client-machines), the minimum hardware
Recommendations are:
• 3+ GHz CPU
• 2 GB RAM
• 1 GB HD
Please note that these are minimum system requirements. Heavy load testing shows that the greatest benefit in throughput for the SDK is achieved by (1) the addition of physical memory, and (2) increased CPU speed in that order.
For larger-scale installations, multiple physical machines positioned behind a load- balancing device may be appropriate.
Database support
Support for multiple Database like Access My-SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition.
Memory caching
A cache is also retained on the server allowing other client computers to benefit from the original client’s request. This same caching scheme is applied at optimal points throughout the system, for speedy access.
Error handling
Robust and consistent error handling is essential to a software product’s longevity. Error handling is seamless and consistent throughout the system even across process or machine boundaries.
